Lala Note Privacy Policy — Windows
Lala Note ("the app") is an app for writing, editing and playing sheet music. The app has no server of its own, and the developer does not collect or store any personal information. This page explains what information the app handles on your device.
1. Personal information we collect
The developer collects no personal information: no name, email address, phone number, location or device identifier. The app has no account or sign-in and no analytics tools.
2. Information stored on your device
The scores you make and the app's settings (language, sound choice, display settings and the like) are stored only on your device. They are not sent to the developer or to any third party. They are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
3. Device permissions
| Permission | Used for | How it is handled |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone | Turning humming (a voice or an instrument) into notes | Sound is analysed on the device as it comes in. Recordings are not kept and not sent anywhere. |
| Internet | Downloading public scores and extra sound files that you choose | See section 4. |
The microphone permission is requested only when you use that feature, and the rest of the app works without it. You can turn the permission off at any time in your device settings. The app does not use the camera or your location.
4. Internet connections
The app connects to outside servers only in these cases:
- when you pick a score from a public catalogue (such as OpenScore) and download it;
- when you download an extra sound file;
- when it starts, to see whether a newer version is available: it reads a small file from the developer's website (www.papa.pe.kr). Nothing about you or your scores is sent; the web host may keep its usual record of the connection (such as the IP address).
These files come from public repositories run by third parties such as GitHub. As with any internet connection, those servers may receive connection data such as your IP address, which they handle under their own privacy policies. The app never sends your scores or personal information to these servers.
If you turn on Google Drive sync, the app also connects to Google to sign in and to keep your scores in your own Google Drive (see section 5).
If you turn on Dropbox sync instead, the app connects to Dropbox in the same way (see section 5).
5. Exporting files and cloud storage
When you export a score or send it to another app, the file goes only to the place you choose yourself: a folder on the device, a cloud drive such as Google Drive, or another app. This happens through the device's own file and share screens, and the app has no access to your cloud account. Files you save in a cloud drive are governed by that service's policy.
Google Drive sync (optional): if you turn it on, you sign in to your Google account on Google's own screen, and the app keeps your scores in a LalaNote folder of your own Google Drive. The app can reach only the files it creates there; it cannot see your other files and never receives your password. The address of the connected account is shown in the app and kept on the device only. Your scores travel directly between your device and your Google Drive, never to the developer. You can turn the sync off at any time and withdraw the app's access in your Google account settings.
Dropbox sync (optional): if you choose Dropbox instead, you sign in to your Dropbox account on Dropbox's own page in the browser, and the app keeps your scores in its own folder of your Dropbox (Apps/LalaNote). The app can reach only that folder; it cannot see your other files and never receives your password. To bring you back to the app after sign-in, the browser briefly opens a page on the developer's website (www.papa.pe.kr); that page only returns you to the app and stores nothing, though like any website its host may log ordinary connection data such as your IP address. Your scores travel directly between your device and your own Dropbox and are never sent to the developer. Only one drive is synced at a time. You can turn sync off at any time and remove the app's access in your Dropbox account settings.
6. Sharing with third parties
The developer collects no personal information and therefore has nothing to share or sell.
Advertising and purchases: the Windows app shows no advertisements and has no in-app purchases. It is bought in the Microsoft Store, after a free trial period; the purchase and the payment are handled entirely by Microsoft under its own privacy policy, and the app and the developer never receive your payment details.
7. Children's privacy
The app can be used by people of any age, and the developer collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
8. Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, the new text will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
