Lala Note Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 14, 2026 · Developer: diligentDad (individual developer)

Lala Note ("the app") is an app for writing, editing and playing sheet music. The app has no server of its own, and the developer does not collect anything that says who you are. This page explains what information the app handles on your device and what the Google services built into it send.

1. Personal information we collect

The developer collects nothing that says who you are: no name, email address, phone number or precise location, and the app has no account or sign-in. The app shows a banner advertisement delivered by Google and uses two Google services, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, which send Google usage statistics and crash reports marked with a random identifier of the installation rather than your name (see section 6).

2. Information stored on your device

The scores you make and the app's settings (language, sound choice, display settings and the like) are stored only on your device. They are not sent to the developer or to any third party. They are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

3. Device permissions

PermissionUsed forHow it is handled
MicrophoneTurning humming (a voice or an instrument) into notesSound is analysed on the device as it comes in. Recordings are not kept and not sent anywhere.
InternetDownloading public scores and extra sound files that you chooseSee section 4.

The microphone permission is requested only when you use that feature, and the rest of the app works without it. You can turn the permission off at any time in your device settings. The app does not use the camera or your location.

4. Internet connections

The app connects to outside servers only in these cases:

These files come from public repositories run by third parties such as GitHub. As with any internet connection, those servers may receive connection data such as your IP address, which they handle under their own privacy policies. The app never sends your scores or personal information to these servers.

If you turn on Google Drive sync, the app also connects to Google to sign in and to keep your scores in your own Google Drive (see section 5).

If you turn on Dropbox sync instead, the app connects to Dropbox in the same way (see section 5).

5. Exporting files and cloud storage

When you export a score or send it to another app, the file goes only to the place you choose yourself: a folder on the device, a cloud drive such as Google Drive, or another app. This happens through the device's own file and share screens, and the app has no access to your cloud account. Files you save in a cloud drive are governed by that service's policy.

Google Drive sync (optional): if you turn it on, you sign in to your Google account on Google's own screen, and the app keeps your scores in a LalaNote folder of your own Google Drive. The app can reach only the files it creates there; it cannot see your other files and never receives your password. The address of the connected account is shown in the app and kept on the device only. Your scores travel directly between your device and your Google Drive, never to the developer. You can turn the sync off at any time and withdraw the app's access in your Google account settings.

Dropbox sync (optional): if you choose Dropbox instead, you sign in to your Dropbox account on Dropbox's own page in the browser, and the app keeps your scores in its own folder of your Dropbox (Apps/LalaNote). The app can reach only that folder; it cannot see your other files and never receives your password. To bring you back to the app after sign-in, the browser briefly opens a page on the developer's website (www.papa.pe.kr); that page only returns you to the app and stores nothing, though like any website its host may log ordinary connection data such as your IP address. Your scores travel directly between your device and your own Dropbox and are never sent to the developer. Only one drive is synced at a time. You can turn sync off at any time and remove the app's access in your Dropbox account settings.

6. Sharing with third parties

The developer does not sell information to anyone. Information leaves your device for a third party only through the services below, which are built into the app.

Advertising: the app shows a banner advertisement through Google AdMob, a service of Google. To deliver the advertisement, Google's software in the app sends Google technical data such as the IP address (which shows an approximate region), the device model, system version and language, and whether the advertisement was shown or tapped. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Because children may use the app, every advertisement request is marked as intended for children: advertisements are not personalised, the device's advertising ID is not used, and only advertisements suitable for all ages are requested.

Usage statistics: the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a service of Google, to show the developer how the app is used in general: how many people use it, in which countries, on which devices and app versions, how often and for how long, and what the advertisement earns. For this, Google's software in the app sends Google a random identifier of the installation with technical data such as the device model, system version, language, the IP address (which shows an approximate region) and events such as opening the app. Your scores, file names, lyrics and anything else you type are never sent. The device's advertising ID is not collected, and the data is not used to personalise advertisements. Google handles the data under its own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). The identifier is erased when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, usage statistics are switched off: on a device whose time zone is set to one of those countries, nothing described in this paragraph is collected or sent. The app decides this from the device's time zone setting alone and does not read its location.

Crash reports: the app uses Firebase Crashlytics, a service of Google, so that the developer can find and fix errors. When the app crashes or a part of it fails, a report is sent to Google that says where in the program the error happened and gives the device model, system version, app version, the state of the device at that moment (such as free memory) and the time, under a random identifier of the installation. It contains none of your scores or files. Google keeps these reports for 90 days. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, crash reports are switched off in the same way: from a device whose time zone is set to one of those countries, no report is sent.

Purchases: the app offers one optional purchase that removes the banner advertisement. The purchase is made through the store of your device — Google Play on Android, the App Store on iPhone and iPad — and the payment is handled entirely by Google or Apple under its own privacy policy. The app and the developer never receive your payment details; the app only asks the store whether the purchase belongs to the store account on the device, in order to hide the advertisement. After the purchase the app no longer shows advertisements.

7. Children's privacy

The app can be used by people of any age, and every user is treated in the way intended for children: advertisements are requested as section 6 describes, and the usage statistics and crash reports contain no advertising ID and are never used to personalise advertising. The developer does not knowingly collect the name or contact details of anyone, children included.

8. Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, the new text will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
